ATLANTICADE Motorcycle Festival was recently honored with an EDDY Award at the International Spring Motorcycle Show held earlier this month in Toronto.

EDDY Awards are presented each year to recognize individuals or organizations in the motorcycle community that have had an impact on charitable organizations at the local, regional, or national level.

ATLANTICADE was nominated for the award by Motorcycle Mojo editor Glenn Roberts to recognize the estimated $75,000 that has been raised for a variety of organizations over the past decade. This includes such organizations as Children’s Wish Foundation, Muscular Dystrophy, Special Olympics, Boys & Girls Club, Legion Branches, food banks and minor hockey.

In accepting the award, ATLANTICADE founder and chairman, Dale Hicks explained that the recognition really belongs to the participants who attend the festival and purchase draw tickets, auction items, or make donations at a barbecue. “The motorcycle community is known for contributing to a wide range of charities” said Hicks. “Bikers are always willing to support charitable organizations, so we have been fortunate to be able to give back to a wide range of groups over the years”.

Hicks also thanked Glenn Roberts for the nomination and the organizers of the International Spring Motorcycle Show for accepting and acknowledging the past community contributions made as part of the annual festival.

The 12th annual upcoming ATLANTICADE will be providing a financial contribution to several local Legions, Ride For Dad, and the local food bank.
